Competition Details
Junior competition finals will be held LIVE at Australia's Ultimate Drummers Weekend 20th Anniversary on Saturday August 25th, 2012
All finalists will perform for a selected judging panel of Australian and International drum artists and the winner will be announced at the 20th Australia's Ultimate Drummer's Weekend & Expo 2012
Interstate entries are welcome. All interstate finalists are responsible for their own transport and accommodation if traveling to Melbourne for JUNIOR competition finals.
All finalists will receive a commemorative certificate.
Competition Requirements
Choose one piece from each category and record the pieces on DVD.
Choose one piece from each category:
1) Reading 20 marks
Play Sight Reading exercise No. 10 on page 41 from: 'Reading Rhythm' BK/CD by Bill Kezelos
2) Technique 25 marks
Play any one piece from: 'Rudiments & Motions' by Frank Corniola (pp 133-144)
3) Kit Piece 30 marks
Play any one (1) of the following pieces:
'Summaries 2 - 5', or 'Going Home' or 'Bon Voyage' from 'Rhythm Section Drumming' BK/CD by Frank Corniola
OR Any one (1) from: 'The Ultimate Play Along Volume 1 or 2' BK/CD by Dave Weckl
4) Free Choice 25 marks
Open solo - Maximum 3 minutes
