Leigh Fisher
Born in Melbourne, Leigh is fast becoming one of the countries sought after drummers. He has performed/recorded with a variety of top Australian artists including Vanessa Amorosi, Kaz James, Michael Paynter, Renee Cassar, Jeff Raglus, the Stella Skinner Quartet and the Nat Bartsch Trio just to name a few. He has completed numerous national and international tours and performed on various TV shows including Neighbours, Video Hits, Sunrise, Kerri Anne, The Morning Show, The Footy Show and Channel [V].
In 2006 Leigh was invited to open the AUDW 2006 festival alongside Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang, Tommy Igoe, Rodney Holmes, Dom Famularo and Cindy Blackman.
Having completed a Bachelor in Applied Music Performance at Box Hill Institute of Performing Arts Leigh also went on to complete his Postgraduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts.
Alongside being featured in Drumscene and Modern Drummer Magazine Leigh is also an active writer/educator for Drumscene Magazine and has been a part of the teaching faculty at Drumtek for the past 3 years. His influences include John Bonham, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Bob Moses, Keith Carlock, Chris Dave, Adam Deitch, Amir Thompson and Steve Jordan.
Leigh currently endorses Yamaha Drums, Zildjian Cymbals and Vater Drumsticks exclusively.
