Competition Details
THREE FINALISTS will be selected from all over Australia to compete live in Melbourne at 'Australia's Ultimate Drummers Weekend' (AUDW) 2020.
All finalists will perform for a selected judging panel of Australian and International drum artists and the winner will be announced at AUDW 2020.
The three finalists will each receive huge prizes including a commemorative certificate.

Competition Requirements
Choose and record yourself performing one piece from each category:
1) Solos 25 marks
Play any one solo from the following choices:
'The Solo' or 'Crazy Army" by Steve Gadd - 'Up Close' BK/CD
'Haversack' or 'Bub ' by Graham Morgan - 'Analysis of Contemporary Drumming' book
2) Technique 25 marks
Any one piece from: 'Rudiments & Motions' book by Frank Corniola - pp 169 – 176
3) Free Choice 20 marks
Approximately 3 minutes in duration. Jazz, Latin or Contemporary improvisation
4) Kit Piece 30 marks
Play any one (1) piece from the following choices:
'Complex City' or 'Odd Time Journey' or 'Fusion Boulevard' - Rhythm Section Drumming BK/CD by Frank Corniola
'Native Metal' or 'Pyramids On Mars' - Ultimate Play-Along BK/CD by Virgil Donati
'Mind the Gap' or 'Fill the Fives' - Indian Rhythms For The Drumset' by Pete Lockett
Any one (1) Global Tours - pp 102 -107 from: 'Groove Essentials 2.0' BK/CD by Tommy Igoe
Or Any one (1) piece from: 'The Groove Perspective Play-Along' BK/CD by Darryn Farrugia
Or 'Original Contemporary Piece' 3-4 minutes. Must submit the Drum Transcript
