All competition finals will be held at the 2018 Australia's Ultimate Drummers Weekend (25th & 26th of August)

How to Submit

To Enter the 2018 'Australia's Up & Coming Drummer Competition' in either the Junior, Intermediate, Open or Australia's Best Female Drummer categories; please ensure that you complete the following steps:

Upload your individual video submissions to YouTube
On this page; Select 'Choose File' and attach your completed entry form
Select 'Add to Cart' and complete your checkout to process your payment and finalise your submission

Alternatively, you can send through a physical copy of your entry submission via DVD (along with the completed entry form) and a Cheque or Money Order for $30.00 to:

Competition Rules

Drummers currently under contract with any or all of A.B.U.C competition sponsors are eligible to enter within the appropriate age category more than once. This includes previous winners who may wish to continue to enter and compete over consecutive years.
For all new entrants, entry / audition is by recording the drumming material listed within your age category as a video. Submissions must be via Youtube (as described above) or via DVD and must be playable on a standard DVD player (Please note: if you are submitting your entry as a DVD, please include a Cheque or Money Order for $30.00 as described above).
Judging is based on technique, groove, proficiency, relaxation, presentation and creativity.
Extensive video production is not required. (Entrants are NOT judged on the production quality of their DVD entry)
Drumtek reserves the right to publish images of all finalists in media outlets, including video footage of competition final high-lights on the AUDW DVD releases, and on Drumtek's website.
Contestants will pay for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
Drumtek will provide all Drums, Hardware and Cymbals for the competition finals.
Add an additional $10.00 P&H fee to the Cheque or Money order if you require your DVD returned.
No judges reports or marks will be provided to the contestants.
The official Drumtek entry form (listed above) must be completed and sent in with your DVD.

Open Category Winner Conditions:

In order for the Open category winner to play live at the following years AUDW festival, he or she must sign a 12 month endorsement contract with the respective current AUDW competition sponsors.

Please note:

Contestants under any endorsement contract with companies other than the 2016 sponsors are not eligible to re-enter.
Top three Finalists in all categories will be given their total prize in gear (split across the four drum company sponsors) on the day of their performance at AUDW.
NO prize gear will be exchanged for different models by the respective sponsors or Drumtek.
Open Category 1st place winner will have his or her choice of gear to the total value of Recommend Retail Price (RRP) allocated in prizes split across the four sponsors
