History

Australia's World-Renowned Drum & Percussion Headquarters

Dedication and commitment to the drumming community has earned Drumtek Australia's number one status as a comprehensive drum and percussion complex. It all began in 1990 when the vacant site at 529-533 High Street Northcote was purchased, then two years later the complex was completed from the ground up!

A Brief History

Since Drumtek's humble beginnings on the 20th of January 1992, Drumtek has been responsible for hundreds of the world’s greatest artists and bands featured in clinics, workshops and private teaching.

Since 1993, Drumtek has staged "Australia's Best Up & Coming Drummer" Junior, Intermediate and Open competitions, as well as "Australia's Ultimate Drummers Weekend" festivals (AUDW).

Since 2002 (10th Anniversary), each year's festival has been internationally released on DVDs through Hudson Music.

THIS IS HUGE FOR AUSTRALIAN DRUMMING & DRUMMERS GLOBALLY!

DRUMscene

On April 20th 1995, DRUMscene – "Australia's Drum Magazine" – was the new creation to come out of Drumtek. Launched at Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre to a capacity audience featuring Virgil Donati, the first artist to appear on Drumscene Issue 1 front cover, Drumscene is now regarded as one of the world's most renowned drum magazines.
